Medical device manufacturer, ConvaTec, has issued a medical device alert concerning its AQUACEL Ag Dressing (ICC Code: 403711, Lot number: 0A03126).
According to the manufacturer, a complaint has been received for an open seam on the primary packaging and also showing the dressing partially stuck within the seal. The sterile barrier is breached making the product unable to be used. Using a non-sterile device on a patient may potentially expose the patient to infectious agents.
The manufacturer suggests affected users to perform a count of affected product currently in inventory and to immediately stop use and quarantine the affected lot.
According to the local supplier, the affected products are NOT distributed in Hong Kong.
