Health Canada has posted a medical device safety alert concerning Philips Ultrasound, Inc. EPIQ Diagnostic Ultrasound System [Model or Catalog Number: EPIQ; Lot or Serial Number: All Lots][HKMD No.: 140206, 140207, 200013, 150094, 200302].

According to Health Canada, Philips EPIQ Ultrasound systems operating with software version 10.0 may present an image lag, where the user is expecting to see a real time image and the system delays the presentation of that image by several seconds. If present, this issue will be observed in the following scenario:

• The user begins to live scan and they do not see an image for several seconds (image is not immediately displayed).
• The image lag will continue to persist (image displayed will continue to be several seconds behind).
